Food Fusion: Law’s Sustaining Role in Food, Lewis & Clark’s second annual food law forum, brought nearly 120 attendees to campus.

The dynamic mix at the sold-out event included students, practitioners from near and far, food cart owners, winemakers, politicians, and local experts who addressed legal and policy issues involved in producing and providing the food we eat. Interactive sessions explored topics such as urban farming, land use, food startups, microentrepreneurship, and alcohol distribution, licensing, and labeling.

The forum was a joint collaboration of the Business Law Program and the Food and Wine Law Society, a student group.

The next food law forum—Food Law in the 21st Century: What’s on Our Plate? —will be held April 7, 2017.
