NCVLI Assists in Securing Huge Victory for Victims Before Oregon Supreme Court
The rights to be notified, present, and heard allow victims the opportunity to participate in a meaningful way in the criminal case of their offender. One of NCVLI’s partner clinics, the Oregon Crime Victim Law Center, worked closely with NCVLI in securing a huge victory for victims in ensuring that these rights are afforded. The Oregon Supreme Court threw out the defendant’s sentence after a stalking victim’s rights to be notified, present, and heard were violated!
