Center for Animal Law Studies
Animal Law Tracks
The Center for Animal Law Students at Lewis & Clark Law School offers a range and depth of courses. As such, our JD and one-of-a-kind Animal Law LLM empowers students to dedicate their degree to the animal law issues most important to them and beneficial to their careers. While the JD and LLM offer students considerable flexibility in completing the requirements for the degree, students who wish to focus on a specific area of animal issues—such as animals in agriculture, wildlife, and companion animals—may want to consider the following course offerings and externships for credit. Please note that these animal law “tracks” are only suggestions to help students and applicants shape their academic experience at Lewis & Clark. Note also that because animal law overlaps with other areas of law, the tracks listed below incorporate offerings outside of those listed as animal law courses.
