Description: Through writing exercises and classroom workshops, this course examines the Oregon Rules of Civil Procedure and applies them to the drafting of effective pleadings, persuasive motions and briefs, discovery requests and other court documents essential to the prosecution and/or defense of civil claims in the Oregon courts. Students will learn the art and skill of litigation in Oregon through lecture, classroom discussion, oral exercises, and individualized feedback on their written work. Course grade will be based on in-class participation and oral exercises and a series of take-home drafting exercises. This course will satisfy the writing intensive experience (WIE) requirement.
