Mark G. Tratos Scholarship

This scholarship is granted to a student with a demonstrated interest in practicing intellectual property or entertainment law after graduation. Preference is given to those with experience in visual arts, fine arts, performing arts, theatre, or media and entertainment industries.

Mark Tratos JD’79 is the Chair of Lewis & Clark Law School’s Board of Visitors and a distinguished member of the Class of 1979. He is a founding shareholder of the Las Vegas office of the global law firm of Greenberg Traurig, and the past Chairman for the Board of Trustees of the National Judicial College. He has been named as one of the “Best Lawyers in America” in the area of Intellectual Property law each year since 2002.

Mr. Tratos has been recognized as Top Intellectual Property and Entertainment Lawyer in the State of Nevada in the 1999 and 2006 editions of The Nevada Business Journal and has been named one of Southern Nevada’s Most Influential Men by In Business. He has represented numerous large resort, hotel and casino entities in matters involving trademark, copyrights, domain names, rights of publicity and privacy law for known casino brands. He has also represented numerous artists and performers including the estates of Orson Welles, James Dean, Malcolm X, Marilyn Monroe and Anthony Quinn.
