Our team is a coalition of Lewis &\; Clark Law students dedic ated to public interest environmentalism\, to biking\, and to challenges. The purpose of the ride is to reduce our carbon footprint by opting to t ravel to the largest environmental law conference in the world twelve hou rs by bicycle\, instead of two hours by car. \; The Bike to Euge ne Challenge proposes\, to ourselves and our communities\, a greater sens e of personal accountability for environmental harms. Our team also wants to celebrate biking\, both for the pure joys of biking\, and as a tool t o reduce our carbon footprint. Our motto this year is "bike more\, drive less." \;All levels of cycling experience are welcome to \;bike all or some of the \;one-day\, 140 mile\, fully-supported ride from Portland to Eugene \;(see photos from \;previous years' journeys) .
