Dear Victims’ Rights Community

May 17, 2011

Dear Victims’ Rights Community,

Spring has been full of important victims’ rights work.  In April, as part of National Crime Victims’ Rights Week, NCVLI held an event training over 70 people on the unique challenges facing victims of Internet-related crime.  At this event, we also celebrated the amazing community supporting our work in protecting and advancing victims’ rights by honoring a few of our outstanding volunteers.  You’ll read about three of these volunteers below.  Click here to learn more about the Crime Victims’ Rights Week event.

This month, our spring Crime Victim Litigation Class finished their time with us.  They worked on issues ranging from protecting the privacy of sexual assault victims and victims of financial crimes, to how attorneys can better serve child-victims, to research to help policy makers strengthen laws to return a victim’s property.

We’ll be kicking off summer with NCVLI’s biggest training event of the year, our annual Crime Victim Law Conference.  As the only conference on rights enforcement in the country, this event is not only an invaluable educational experience, but allows victims’ rights practitioners to come together to re-connect and foster a sense of community.  We hope to see you there!
