NCVLI Clinic Cluster Meeting Generates a Buzz

On Tuesday, April 26th, the National Crime Victim Law Institute (NCVLI) held its all-clinic victims’ rights enforcement meeting in Denver, Colorado.

The day-long event, known as a “cluster” meeting, gathered NCVLI’s state legal clinic representatives from across the country to discuss the current status and future of victims’ rights law and related services. Generously hosted by the Rocky Mountain Victim Law Center, the meeting featured a lively roundtable discussion, which encompassed topics ranging from “tackling discovery” to “tackling pleas.”  The “cluster” of ideas generated and shared by participants garnered such post-meeting comments as: “Great discussion[.] It was beneficial to hear strategies about how to protect victims’ privacy rights especially with regard to psychological records[,]” and  “I took tons of really useful notes during this discussion - it will change (improve) this aspect of my practice.”  The cluster meeting in Denver was the first of three such meetings planned to take place in different parts of the country through September of 2011.
