1981

Arts & Sciences Reunion June 23−26, 2011

Paul Cosgrove JD is chair of the national board of directors for State Law Resources, an international referral network of independent law firms. He is of counsel with the law firm Lindsay, Hart, Neil & Weigler.

Juan Lizama JD has been appointed to the Northern Marianas College Board of Regents by Benigno Fitial, governor of the commonwealth. If confirmed by the senate, Lizama will represent Saipan on the board through fall 2013.

James Martin JD was selected by President Barack Obama to be the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s regional administrator for Region 8 in Denver.

1982

Timothy Lim B.S., professor of political science at California State University at Los Angeles, is the author of Doing Comparative Politics: An Introduction to Approaches and Issues (Lynne Rienner Publishers, 2005).

Kathryn Yule BA traveled to Australia with Hugo Award– winning science fiction author David Levine, her husband. His retirement in 2007 has freed them to travel to science fiction conventions and square dance events. “Hanging out with him has taken me to Thailand, Japan, a shuttle launch, the U.S. Transuranium Registry, and innumerable hotel function rooms across this great land,” says Yule.

Turid Owren J.D. was in the 2010 edition of Chambers USA, America’s Leading Lawyers for Business and The Best Lawyers in America 2011. She established Tonkon Torp’s Immigration Practice Group in 1999 and has earned top-tier rankings by Chambers USA and the U.S. News Best Lawyers/Best Law Firms report.

1984

Curt Lane Borg JD was inducted into the Watsonville High School Alumni Hall of Fame in Santa Cruz County, California. Previously, he served as a pro tem judge, founded a law firm, and taught at Lewis & Clark Law School. In 2008, he became the executive director of Metropolitan Public Defender, Oregon’s largest public defender’s office.

Steve Hedberg J.D. was honored by the Federal Bar Association for volunteer mentoring. He is a partner with Perkins Coie in Portland.

Joanna Fiske McCully BA and Timothy McCully B.A. were married in 1989 while living in Brooklyn. Daughter Kate is a sophomore at Reed College and daughter Sarah is an 11th-grade International Baccalaureate student. Timothy received his master’s degree in international affairs from Columbia University in 1989. He is vice president for international programs at Lutheran World Relief in Baltimore. Joanna works at home (“primarily as a mom”), at a PR firm, and as a dog walker in Silver Springs, Maryland. They live a few miles from Kim Perkins BA, a fellow Alderite.

William Monahan JD is city manager for Milwaukie, Oregon.

Stuart Cohen JD is a partner with Landye Bennett Blumstein. He is chair of the Rotary Club of Tigard Foundation.

Roxane White BA is chief of staff for Colorado Governor John Hickenlooper. She was previously his mayoral chief of staff.

1986

Cam Groner JD is chair of the board of trustees for Trillium Family Services, a community organization that provides mental and behavioral health care for more than 5,000 children and families in Oregon each year. Groner is senior vice president and chief legal officer for Legacy Health.

Martha Hodgkinson JD was elected to a three-year term as a new board director for the Multnomah County Bar Association. She is executive partner for the law firm Hodgkinson Street, where she focuses on civil litigation. A presenter at Multnomah Bar Association CLE seminars, Hodgkinson has also chaired both the Multnomah Bar Association Judicial Screening and Court Liaison committees. She is also a past president of the Oregon Association of Defense Counsel.

1987

Larry Blake JD is the new municipal court judge in Newberg. He is now the municipal court judge for five cities and city prosecutor for two more. He teaches part time at Mount Hood Community College and has a law practice in Portland.

1988

Teresa Pacelli BS is having a wonderful time eating and sharing Xocai Healthy Chocolate for a living. She also consults for the insurance industry on health and wellness for prevention of injury.
