On Friday, September 23rd NCVLI joined the Greater Portland Chapter of Parents of Murdered Children (POMC) to commemorate the National Day of Remembrance for Murder Victims.  Held at the future home of the Murder Victims Memorial Garden, the event brought the community together to support survivors of homicide and celebrate the lives of lost loved ones.  Many of the area’s elected officials came to speak out against violence and honor victims, including Oregon Attorney General John Kroger, Clackamas County District Attorney John Foote, and Clark County Prosecuting Attorney Tony Golik.  NCVLI Executive Director Meg Garvin carried out the solemn ceremony of reading victim names not to be forgotten. Thank you to the Greater Portland Chapter of Parents of Murdered Children for inviting NCVLI to participate again this year for an inspiring tribute to families affected by murder.  To see the photo gallery from this event, click here.
