An alumnus-created Web site to inspire those trying to ‘make it’

Music, art, sports, photography and…sneakers. Alumni Aron Phillips’ new Web site How To Make It runs a gamut of topics and stands as a testament to how a wide variety of interests can lead to, well, spectacularly interesting reading. There’s one theme, though, that pervades - the story of how people turn their passions into lifestyles.
With articles, most of which are written by Phillips, that start with sentences like:
“It’s hard not to get excited when the worlds of sneakers and art collide,” (a story about a Polish graphic artist who turns sneakers into cubes), it’s easy to be caught up in Phillips’ enthusiasm.
“How To Make It is meant to be both inspirational and aspirational,” Phillips said. “Everyone is out there trying to ‘make it,’ and I hope to tell the stories of how people got to where they are today. Whether you’ve ‘made it’ or are in the process of ‘making it,’ you have a journey, and there’s a whole world of people that would love to hear it.”
Phillips ’07 has also enlisted former Lewis & Clark classmates Mark Robinowitz ’08, Nick Thierry ’08 and Craig Gilden ’07 to contribute to the site.
