Greg Caldwell is the associate dean of students and director of International Students and Scholars.

Greg Caldwell is the associate dean of students and director of International Students and Scholars. His career in international education began with a three-year assignment teaching middle school English with the Peace Corps in South Korea. “Before Peace Corps I had never met anyone from a foreign country,” says Caldwell. When he returned to the United States, Caldwell earned his master’s degree in English as a second language from the University of Hawai‘i, and in 1976 he took an ESL position at Lewis & Clark College. Caldwell taught ESL for two years before becoming director of the program. In 1984, he became the head of the International Students and Scholars Office, where he has worked since, supporting Lewis & Clark’s international students and third-culture kids. Caldwell was awarded a Fulbright Scholarship to teach at Kangweon National University in Korea in 1981. He also led a Lewis & Clark overseas program toChina in 1987.
