1990

Donna Sandoval Bennett JD is Oregon’s new state personnel director, officially known as the administrator of the Human Resource Services Division of the Department of Administrative Services.

Leslie Bottomly JD is on the board of directors of Raphael House of Portland, an agency dedicated to ending domestic violence. Bottomly is a partner at Ater Wynne in its labor and employment group.

Cedric Brown JD joined the Multnomah Bar Association board of directors for a three-year term.

1991

Linda “Lin” Harmon JD joined Pace Law School in White Plains, New York, as assistant dean and director of environmental programs. Previously, she directed several environmental law programs at Lewis & Clark Law School.

Helen Hierschbiel JD joined the Multnomah Bar Association board of directors for a three-year term.

Abby Wool Landon JD is a member in the Portland office of Williams Kastner. Landon is a board member of the Better World Club, an environmentally friendly auto club.

Ruthe Farmer BA serves on Lewis & Clark’s Board of Alumni and the reunion planning committee. She looks forward to catching up with everyone in June, especially the gang from the Munich program. Now based near Boulder, Colorado, she spends much of her time traveling around the nation (and the world) as a selftitled “paid feminist” for the National Center for Women & Information Technology. Farmer attended the White House Champions of Change for Women/Girls in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) event in Washington, D.C., and was vice-chair of Computer Science Education Week 2011.

John Kaempf JD formed his own firm, Brooksby Kaempf, in 2008 after working as a partner at a large Portland defense firm for more than 15 years.

1993

Sharon Collier BA, an attorney at Archer Norris in northern California, was named to the 2010 Super Lawyers list, her second year as a Rising Star.

Andrew Davis JD joined the firm of Stoll Berne as a shareholder.

Cassandra Koehn Franklin BA is CEO of Cocoon House, which provides critical services to homeless and at-risk youth and their families in Everett, Washington. She has more than 10 years of leadership experience with nonprofits.

Judge Daniel Stahnke JD was appointed to replace retiring Judge Roger Bennett as a Clark County Superior Court judge.

Shannon Layton Van Horn BA, M.S. ’98 received her doctorate in educational leadership from Washington State University in May 2011. Van Horn works as a school psychologist and as an adjunct faculty member at Washington State University in Vancouver. She and her husband have two children, own a small business, and live in the Portland-Vancouver area.

1994

Mark Bonanno JD was appointed chair of the Fraud and Abuse Practice Group for the American Health Lawyers Association in July 2011. He also is a principal in Er-Quik, a company that produces emergency room quick information kits for patients.

David Brinkman BA received an M.BA in 2002 from Pepperdine University. He was also honored with the university’s second annual Waves of Service Award. In conjunction with the award, he received a $5,000 check to the Desert AIDS Project, of which he is CEO and president.

Antonia De Meo J.D. joined UNICEF senior management in Khartoum, Sudan. With this position, she returns to her main areas of expertise and interest: human rights, rule of law, and gender equality. De Meo has worked overseas in international development since 1999 in Bosnia, Iraq, the former Soviet Union, and the Middle East.

Susan Francois BA served as an elections officer and management analyst for Portland city government after graduation. Last November, she became a sister of St. Joseph of Peace. Francois reclaimed her faith during the late 1990s at St. Philip Neri Parish in Portland. She was a leading Catholic peace activist in Oregon during the run-up to the Iraq War.

Amy Neal BA is executive director of the Yakima [Washington] Schools Foundation. “After two years with Ameri- Corps (where I met my husband), I have worked for nonprofit agencies focusing on issues including children, the elderly, transportation for people with special needs, and community development. My degree in English has been put to good use as a grant writer.” She and her husband enjoy travel. They recently went to Ethiopia to build homes with Habitat for Humanity.

1995

Greg Scholl JD is a member of the Pacific Trombone Quartet. He plays principal trombone in the Portland Columbia Symphony, the Vancouver Symphony, and the Newport Symphony Orchestra. He also plays in the Portland Brass Quintet and with the Michael Vlatkovich Trio. Scholl earned his performance degree at the University of Texas at Austin. He directs the public defender’s office in Hillsboro, Oregon.

1997

Marco Gonzalez JD is a cofounder and managing partner of Coast Law Group. In 2011, he was one of 10 attorneys awarded the San Diego Daily Transcript’s “Top Attorney” designation in its multidisciplinary “Transcript 10” category.

Naomi Pomeroy BA was a featured speaker at the September 2011 Portland Creative Conference. She appeared on Bravo’s Top Chef Masters in May and June 2011.

Olga Simanovsky JD is a partner in the law firm of Hinshaw & Culbertson in Los Angeles.

1998

Dhruv Dayal BA completed an international M.BA from the IE Business School in Madrid, Spain, in December 2010. He works in Mumbai, India, leading the new business development and product innovation efforts for Johnson & Johnson Hospital Supplies, an operating company of Johnson & Johnson Medical India.

Christopher Kayser JD joined the Multnomah Bar Association’s board of directors. He is an attorney with Larkins Vacura in Portland.

Christopher Neumann JD was appointed to the Colorado Solid and Hazardous Waste Commission by Governor John Hickenlooper.

1999

Corrine Celko J.D. is secretary for the Oregon Asian Pacific American Bar Association for 2011–12. Celko is an associate at Perkins Coie.

Jill Long JD is a board member of the Third Rail Repertory Theatre. A member of Lane Powell’s real estate and land use practice group, she is actively involved in Portland’s arts community and serves on the executive committee of Oregon Children’s Theater.
