Distinguished Visitors

A broad range of guest speakers bring knowledge and inspiration to campus every year.

Every semester, Lewis & Clark draws a number of prestigious thinkers, thought leaders, and entertainers to campus. Last spring, Chief Justice John G. Roberts Jr. was part of the three-member panel that judged the law school’s inaugural Environmental Moot Court Advocate of the Year competition. Here are some of the speakers who have visited this fall—and a sneak preview of two political innovators coming in early 2014.

Samantha Bee

In front of a packed house at Pamplin Sports Center, Samantha Bee shared some of her most memorable moments from her years as a correspondent at The Daily Show With John Stewart.

Jane Lubchenco

The 2013 Science Without Limits Symposium featured a keynote address from Lubchenco, a MacArthur Award-winning ecologist and the first woman to be appointed under secretary of commerce for oceans and atmosphere and NOAA administrator.

Arsalan Iftikhar

Human rights lawyer, global media commentator, and author of Islamic Pacifism: Global Muslims in the Post-Osama Era, Iftikhar lectured about Muslim identity and Islamophobia in our post 9/11 world.
