Requesting Summit Items Made Easier

January 16, 2015

Placing requests for Summit materials will be much simpler beginning January 20th.  When you find an item you’d like to borrow in L&C Primo Search and click on the “Request via Summit” link, you’ll be presented with a simple request form.  Select your pick-up location (and volume info, if necessary) and click Submit.  That’s it!

It will also be easier to check the status of your Summit requests.  You’ll find them listed under “My Account” after signing into Primo.

If you want to see if an item is available at other Summit libraries, click the “More” link found on the Find & Request tab.  You don’t need to check the availability if you’re simply placing a Summit request—you’ll be notified if we can’t fulfill your request.  But this information can be useful if you want to visit a local Summit library to check something out in-person.

Just keep in mind that “Available” doesn’t necessarily mean that it can be borrowed via Summit.  Among the enhancements we hope to see in the future is the ability to see if you’ll actually be able to borrow an item.  In the meantime, if you’re making a trip to another library, you may want to call first to make sure you can check something out.

Because the external Summit catalog (summit.worldcat.org) will no longer be available, you can use FirstSearch or WorldCat to find items to request via Interlibrary Loan. To make an Interlibrary Loan request, please use this form
