Ensuring Victims’ Voices Are Heard

Victim’s voices are critical to justice and we work day in and day out to ensure victims’ voices are head. Click here to learn more.

Victim’s voices are critical to justice. Three ways we ensure victims’ voices are heard: 1) staffing our Resource & Referral Hotline; 2) filing amicus curiae briefs in state, federal and military courts; and 3) providing technical assistance in the form of legal research and strategic advice to the field. This year we assisted 205 victims through our Hotline, referring them to critical social and legal services.  We participated as amicus or provided technical assistance to practitioners in 139 legal matters in 31 jurisdictions. All told we dedicated nearly 4,000 NCVLI attorney hours to protecting victims’ rights from privacy to safety to restitution.
