Alumni Weekend 2015 Sizzles

Nearly 1,000 alumni, friends, and family braved Portland’s record-breaking heat to attend Alumni Weekend.

In June, nearly 1,000 alumni, friends, and family braved Portland’s record-breaking heat to attend Alumni Weekend, a whirlwind set of events featuring class reunions, a traditional salmon bake and barbecue, shaved ice, and more.

Besides reconnecting with former roommates and classmates, alumni relived their housing experience in the residence halls, participated in an on-campus pub crawl, heard from classmates and faculty during Alumni College, and caught late-night live music and fire arts performances around campus.

The Albany Society, the college’s honorary group for alumni who graduated more than 50 years ago, inducted more than 30 new members from the class of 1965. In addition, nearly 25 people attended a special forensics reunion to celebrate the past 50 years of speech and debate at Lewis & Clark.

In a strong show of support for the college, alumni gave $603,104 in reunion gifts. The class of 1985 won the award for the largest gift with $397,405, and the classes of 1965 and 1985 won the participation award, each with a rate of 30 percent.
