Class Times

I was wondering what a typical time schedule is like for a first year student. How early are classes, what are lunch breaks like, and when does class dismiss? Do we have any choices about time slots or are all schedules pre-fixed?

Classes for full-time students start no earlier than 9:00am and end by 5:00pm. Each semester one group of full-time students will be enrolled in a class that meets two evenings a week, starting at 5:00pm and ending between 7:30pm and 8:00pm. Most full-time students will have classes five days a week but the students with the evening class will probably have classes four days a week. No classes are scheduled from Noon to 1:30pm.

Classes are two credits, three credits, or four credits. A class meets the number of hours per week that equal the credits. So, a four hour class will meet twice a week for two hours at a time; a three hour class will meet twice a week for on-and-a-half hours at a time; and a two hour class will meet twice a week for one hour at a time.

If a student has special circumstances, typically work or child care issues, that make certain times or days more difficult, I can meet with the student individually and see if there is a particular schedule that would work best for that student. Hope this helps.
