2016 Crime Victim Law Conference Update

The 15th Annual Crime Victim Law Conference is just three months away!  We have an exciting line-up of experts. Here we spotlight just two:

Jerry Yager of the Denver Children’s Advocacy Center

Dr. Yager, Director of Training, specializes in the assessment and treatment of traumatized children and adolescents, particularly those who exhibit self-destructive behaviors or have severe mental illness. Dr. Yager will present on how trauma impacts children and adolescents and how integrating an understanding of these impacts is foundational to effective legal representation of child-victims.

Laura Dunn of SurvJustice
Laura, Executive Director of SurvJustice, is a nationally recognized attorney-activist fighting to prevent campus sexual violence and improve campus response to survivors. Laura will present an overview of sexual assault, intimate partner violence and stalking rates on campuses and discuss the myriad of federal laws addressing such violence. The session will provide insights on navigating campus processes and identify ways to protect survivor rights throughout the process.
