2016-17 Professional Development Scholarship Application

Recognizing that many survivors become advocates fighting to ease the path of others and to continue their own healing, NCVLI is committed to providing education & professional development opportunities to survivors. Thanks to funding from individuals and businesses, NCVLI is pleased to be able to offer Crime Victim/Survivor scholarships to eligible individuals. 

Eligibility:  Eligible individuals must be crime victims/survivors and must have at least one (1) year of volunteer/advocacy service to other victims.  

What is Available: Funding may be available to cover the following opportunities:

  1. Crime Victim Law Conference Scholarship - $300 Award to support attendance at the Conference AND, in the event that your employer can also support attendance, NCVLI will match that support up to an additional $200.  Scholarship funds can be used to offset any combination of tuition, lodging, and/or travel costs. The total scholarship for any one person will not exceed $500 for the 2017 Conference.  
  2. In-Person and Technology-Assisted Trainings from NCVLI and the National Alliance of Victims’ Rights Attorneys & Advocates (NAVRA), a project of NCVLI.  The total scholarship for any one person will not exceed the cost of tuition for the single training applied for.
  3. NAVRA Enhanced one-year Membership allowing access to legal memoranda, case summary, and sample pleading searchable databases, as well as discounted trainings.  The total scholarship for any one person will not exceed the cost of one Enhanced Individual Membership for a period of twelve months.
