In June, more than 1,100 alumni, friends, and family enjoyed sunny skies in Portland while attending Alumni Weekend, a whirlwind set of events featuring class reunions, a traditional salmon bake and barbecue, shaved ice, and more.

Besides reconnecting with former roommates and classmates, alumni relived their housing experience in the residence halls, enjoyed a fabulous brunch in Fields Dining Room, participated in an on-campus pub crawl, heard from classmates and faculty during Pioneer College sessions, and danced the night away in the Fir Acres Black Box. The Albany Society, the college’s honorary group for alumni who graduated more than 50 years ago, inducted more than 25 new members from the class of 1966. In addition, about 50 people attended a special student government reunion.

Alumni celebrating their reunions showed their Pioneer pride by raising $502,710 for the college. The class of 1981 raised the most gifts, totaling $208,112, and the classes of 1966 and 1976 saw the highest participation, each with 24 percent.
