Join NCVLI and Judge Thomas Kohl as we raise our voices for justice by hosting a free community awareness raising event entitled Experiencing the Criminal Justice System as a Victim-Survivor-Thriver: Views from the Bench.
Judge Kohl was Presiding Judge in Washington County from 2006 through 2010. He was President of the Oregon State Circuit Court Judges’ Association, 2010-11. In 2006, Judge Kohl’s daughter was murdered. The killer was tried and convicted of aggravated murder several years later. Judge Kohl wrote and published a book about this experience which has opened doors for him to speak about his experience, and the power of reconciliation, forgiveness, and reformation with prison inmates.
