February 2018 Bar Exam Prep Sessions
November 13, 2017
Lewis & Clark Law School students and graduates who will be taking the February 2018 bar exam, are invited to attend one or all of these sessions:
Tuesday, December 12, 2017, 5:30-7:30 pm, Howard Hall Room 124
Join Assistant Dean J.B. Kim for a session on how to approach your studies for the MBE portion of the bar exam. This session will give you tactical and time saving strategies for answering MBE questions, which account for half the available points on the exam. In addition, this session will include practice schedules, looking at some of the “tricks” of taking multiple choice exams, and JB’s novel approach to reading question sets.
Saturday, January 6, 2018, 12:00-3:00 pm, Location: Lezak Seminar Room, Wood Hall (Lunch will be provided)
Join Professor Sandy Patrick for a session on how to approach the MPT. The MPT section of the bar exam is a wonderful place to improve your overall bar score, but many students have trouble successfully completing this portion because of the intense time pressure. In this workshop, students will learn about the components of the MPT; how to find, organize, and draft a solid answer; and how to manage the time constraints. Students will complete an MPT problem in class and assess their answers.
Saturday, January 27, 2018, 10:00 am - 12:00 pm, Location: Wood Hall Room 7
Join Professor Sandy Patrick for a session on study techniques for the MEE portion of the exam. In this two-hour workshop, you will get tips and strategies for successfully completing the six essays on the UBE. The workshop will give you guidance on the types of questions you can expect as well as how those questions will be graded; organizing and drafting a solid answer; and managing your time. You will answer one essay question in class, before learning how to assess your answer and use the model answer to improve your knowledge of the law.
