Washington State Victim Assistance Academy Week
May 03, 2018
NCVLI partnered with the Washington Coalition of Crime Victim Advocates on two trainings last week in Vancouver, Washington!
The State Victim Assistance Academy, designed to transition new advocates to their role, saw seven attendees from across Washington participating in a 4-day, skills-based training. Topics covered included neurobiology of trauma; privacy; working with vulnerable populations; advocate communications; financial recovery; and victims’ rights!
In an intensive, 2-day advanced training seven experienced advocates focused their learning on victims’ rights, including the rights to privacy, protection and be heard, with an overarching theme of making these rights meaningful!
We are grateful to our faculty of diverse experts for sharing so much wisdom!
