Cathy is a Lewis & Clark College triple alumna, having graduated with a BA in Sociology in 1975, an MAT focused on U.S. History in 1983, and a JD in 1987.  She performed an externship in the Oregon Supreme Court during her third year.  She served as Judicial Clerk to Judge James R. Ellis in Multnomah County Circuit Court.  She worked as corporate counsel with Liberty Northwest Insurance (1989 - 1999) and finished her career as an Administrative Law Judge, retiring in 2012.
Cathy has four children and five grandchildren.  In law school, she was a Founding Mother of a group called “Mothers-in-Law” and was inducted into the Cornelius Honor Society.
Cathy has engaged with the college as a member of the Boards of Alumni for the both the College of Arts and Sciences and the Law School.  She is the former President of the Philanthropy Council.
