Professor discusses the education of theatre artists

Associate Professor of Theater Stepan Simek will participate in a panel discussion called “Making Makers,” to offer his thoughts about training the next generation of theatre artists.
The conversation is just one of many events during the Fertile Ground Festival. It takes place Monday, Jan. 25 at 12:30 p.m. at the Gerding Armory’s mezzanine level and will feature several area educators. The discussion, sponsored by the Portland Actors Conservatory, will explore the ways in which these experts are preparing the next generation of playwrights and performers to create compelling new work.
Fertile Ground 2010 is a 10-day arts festival held from January 22 to February 2 in Portland, Oregon. The city-wide festival is focused on new work in the arts.
