Why did you first get interested in working with NCVLI and victims’ rights?
I first got interested in working with NCVLI after speaking with a fellow NCVLI staff member about the organization. Hearing about the amazing work and how dedicated staff members were to victims’ rights was inspiring and motivated me to join NCVLI. I have always been drawn to experiences that serve the public interest and I strongly believe in the mission and values of this organization.
What are your hobbies?
Being in the woods and mountains is where I go to recharge. Whenever I get the opportunity, I go hiking and backpacking with my wife and dog. In the winter we go skiing and have spent the past few years out in eastern Oregon which we have really enjoyed. I also like to cook and listen to music to relax and unwind.
Who or what inspires you?
My parents are first-generation Korean immigrants that moved to the United States in the 1970s. Learning about the barriers, challenges, and discrimination that they faced and overcame has been both heartbreaking and inspirational. Their strength, resilience, and kindness is nothing short of remarkable.
