Promoting Financial Recovery

As part of our work to promote financial recover for crime victims, NCVLI is continuing to partner with the Council of State Governments to create the Restitution Resource Center. A foundation of this work is understanding the legal landscape of restitution – both the laws and practices of jurisdictions across the country. This past month, NCVLI met virtually with practitioners from four states (Arizona, California, Ohio and Oregon) including attorneys, advocates, clerks to hear about the challenges victims face making restitution and financial recovery possible. We are incredibly grateful to those with whom we met. As this work continues we would love to hear from legal practitioners in other states about their experiences. If you are interested in sharing your experience please email ncvli@lclark.edu with the re: line “Restitution Practitioner Input” and we will include you in future communications.
