Please join us for a talk by Dr. Andrea Sempértegui titled “Mujeres Amazónicas’ Fight against Extractivism in Ecuador.” The event will be in Smith Hall from 12:40 to 1:40 pm on Monday, November 20 and is organized by the Latin American and Latino Studies and Gender Studies Departments. Dr. Sempértegui is an Assistant Professor of Politics at Whitman College and a member of the anti-extractive collective Comunálisis based in Quito, Ecuador. Her research focuses on Indigenous politics, environmental and feminist movements, struggles over territory and natural resource extraction, and decolonial thought in Latin America.
Hispanic Studies Program is located in Miller Center on the Undergraduate Campus.
