Booth, Mr. Brian G.

Mr. Booth is a founding partner in Tonkon Torp, where his practice emphasizes corporate and business matters for private and public companies and nonprofit organizations. In 1965, he represented Lewis & Clark College when the Law School became part of the College. He also served as bond counsel for the College during the 1960s in connection with financing of various buildings on the campus. In 1987, his law firm established the Moe Tonkon and Frederick H. Torp scholarship for second-year Law School students to honor two of the firm’s founding partners. In recent years, Brian has worked closely with the staff of the Aubrey Watzek Library on several exhibits featuring works from his collection of Oregon literature. In 2002, he received the Watzek Award from the College. Mr. Booth is an advocate for Oregon’s natural heritage and is active in arts, cultural and educational matters. He has headed the Boards of five state-wide organizations involved in these areas: Oregon Parks & Recreation Commission; Oregon Institute of Literary Arts; Portland Art Museum; Oregon Health and Sciences Foundation; and University of Oregon Art Museum. He is a former Chair of the Oregon State Bar Securities Section, and received the Oregon State Bar’s Public Service Award in 1999. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Oregon and his JD from Stanford University School of Law. He joined the Board of Visitors in 2004.
