Prior to joining NCVLI, Jo worked as a social worker, program administrator, and Spanish interpreter at a nonprofit Federally Qualified Health Center providing medical and social services to youth and adults experiencing homelessness. During her training as a social worker she interned with a county public health department and a community mental health nonprofit organization. She also brings experience as a patient advocate at a women’s health clinic. She has a BA in History from Grinnell College and a Master’s in Social Work from Portland State University.
