Does the program offer any special focus options, like special education, ESOL, etc.?

No. The Preliminary Administrator License program is fairly straight forward and focuses primarily on issues of instructional leadership; the appropriate and powerful uses of data; ethics, policy, and law; engaging and reaching out to the community; planning and budgeting for educational equity; and field-based sheltered administrative practice. Students pursuing Preliminary Administrator License as part of a master’s degree do have electives to choose from that target related educational areas such as literacy, ESOL, and special education.
