Lexie Zirschky serves as Director of Public Interest Law and is committed to assisting employers, students, alumni, and donors to create public interest and pro bono opportunities. She enjoys meeting one-on-one with students to empower them to use their legal training to serve their communities. She received her BA in Philosophy with a Minor in Women’s and Gender Studies from Wake Forest University and her JD from Lewis & Clark Law School. Prior to returning to Lewis & Clark, she served as a judicial clerk and worked primarily for state and territorial government agencies. Outside of work, Lexie is actively involved in volunteering with at-risk youth and civic organizations. She enjoys spending her free time with her elderly dog in Tryon Creek State Park and at the Oregon coast.

For students, Lexie is the primary point of contact for all aspects of public interest advising. This includes judicial clerkships, externship opportunities, prosecution and public defense positions, military careers, fellowships, the NW Public Service Career Fair, the Pro Bono and Community Service Fair, and career advising for students interested in all forms of nonprofit and government employment. Lexie directs the Pro Bono and Community Service Honors Awards programs, and can provide academic advising to students interested in pursuing the Public Interest Certificate. Lexie also serves as the law school’s point of contact for the Lezak Legacy Fellowship program, and as staff advisor for the Public Interest Law Project.

For employers, Lexie is the primary point of contact for pro bono and community service opportunities, judicial clerk and externship hiring, nonprofit and government hiring and student outreach, participation in the NW Public Service Career Fair, participation in the Pro Bono and Community Service Fair, student funding programs, and the Federal Work Study program. She is happy to work with employers in any stage of the recruitment process, and can connect interested employers with our students for information sessions, formal recruitment, and pro bono/volunteer assistance.

For alumni, Lexie provides lifetime public interest career advising and career exploration. She is the primary point of contact for our Loan Repayment Assistance Program, which supports alumni in qualifying public interest employment.

For donors, Lexie is available to connect you with our giving team to discuss the impact that your donation to the Lezak Legacy Program, the Public Interest Law Project, or the Loan Repayment Assistance Program can have in making public interest possible for our students and alumni.
