Originally from North Carolina, Melissa Holme is a 3L pursuing environmental law. Melissa graduated from Appalachian State University in 2018 with a degree in Sustainable Development. Prior to law school, she worked at a pay-what-you-can community cafe, which instilled a drive to pursue a career focusing on issues in our food system and the environment. She is interested in the issues arising from industrial animal agriculture, and how we can move to more sustainable and humane farming practices. When not studying, Melissa is out in her community garden plot, cooking, or taking her dachshund mix for a walk.
