Nicky Blumm, JD
Director of Recruitment & Employer Relations
Nicky seeks to connect the professional community with the talent developed at the law school. His goal is to help students find career paths that suit their interests and will make them enthusiastic about going to work after they survive law school! Nicky advises students, helps employers build recruiting pipelines, and maintains the school’s internal job database. Additionally, he serves as the Staff Advisor to the Public Interest Law Project.
Before Nicky became an attorney, he worked in human capital and high-tech management consulting, was the president of a 501(c)(3), conducted ethnographic research, and spent plenty of time in the service industry.
Nicky was born in Portland, raised in Central Oregon, and is grateful to continue living amidst such natural splendor. When he’s not serving students, you can find him skiing or climbing in alpine snow, petting his kitties, or reading fiction (he’s always quick with a book rec!). If you see him on campus, he might be accompanied by a golden retriever (Bote) who would love to meet you!

For students, Nicky counsels students with last names D-L. He also coordinates recruitment fairs, on-campus interviews, employment opportunities, and networks with prospective employers. If you have specific professional interests in which you would like to make connections (whether or not you’re one of his advisees), please let Nicky know and he will help you strategize.
For employers, Nicky is the person you should connect with to create active job postings, discuss future employment opportunities, or conceptualize recruitment pipelines.
For alumni, Nicky is happy to provide career counseling and connect you to people within our network.
For donors, Nicky would love to help you make a gift that impacts the Public Interest Law Program or enables students to pursue an opportunity through other means.
