Mr. Luis M. Dorn
Lou Dorn has served as Vice President and General Counsel of Colony Resorts LVH Acquisitions, LLC, since May 17, 2004. In this capacity, Mr. Dorn is responsible for all legal matters concerning the Las Vegas Hilton and previously also handled all legal matters concerning Resorts East Chicago, an affiliated property.
Prior to joining Colony Resorts, Mr. Dorn served as an attorney in the Business and Finance Practice Group of Snell & Wilmer, L.L.P., where he represented clients in commercial transactions and advised gaming companies on regulatory compliance and licensing matters. Prior to joining Snell & Wilmer, L.L.P., Mr. Dorn served as Chief of the Corporate Securities Division of the Nevada Gaming Control Board from 2000 to 2003, where he oversaw the licensing and regulatory compliance of all publicly traded gaming companies in Nevada and was responsible for reviewing such companies’ public filings with the Securities and Exchange Commission. Mr. Dorn also served as Deputy Attorney General for the State of Nevada from 1995 to 2000, where he represented, at different times, the Nevada Gaming Control Board, the Nevada Gaming Commission, the Nevada Department of Transportation, and the Nevada Department of Taxation. In addition to Mr. Dorn’s experience in gaming law and commercial transactions, he has litigated numerous employment, personal injury, and real estate matters.
Mr. Dorn received his JD from Northwestern School of Law at Lewis & Clark College and a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Nevada-Reno. He was admitted to the State Bar of Nevada in 1994.
