Kyle Johnson

Director of Public Interest Law

Kyle is a 2015 graduate of L&C Law, a member of the Oregon State Bar, and identifies with the neurodivergent community. He has experience as a legal aid attorney, a judicial clerk, and as an intern deputy prosecuting attorney. Kyle is a Returned Peace Corps Volunteer (Guatemala), a former municipal and wildland volunteer firefighter, and previously worked as a wildlife and fisheries technician (among other trades). He lives in SW Portland and enjoys fair-weather outdoor activities and rainy-day indoor cuddles with his two cats, Squeaky and Smudge.

For students, Kyle is a primary career counselor for both private and public employment options, with a specialty in Public Interest related opportunities. He coordinates career programming panels, and career exploration and networking opportunities throughout the school year.

For employers, Kyle is the point of contact for Public Interest-related opportunities, including government jobs and the nonprofit sector. He is happy to work with employers in any stage of the recruitment process, and can connect interested employers with our students for information sessions and formal recruitment.

For alumni, Kyle provides lifetime career advising and loves to connect alumni to students in networking and career exploration opportunities.
