Tatiana Osipovich taught at Lewis & Clark College for 26 academic years (1990-2017). A native of Russia, she studied Russian literature at the Pedagogical Institute in Arkhangelsk and, after emigrating to the United States, she continued her education at the University of Pittsburgh, where she received her PhD in Russian Literature & Language in 1989. Before coming to Lewis and Clark, Prof. Osipovich taught Russian at Dickinson College in Pennsylvania and at the Russian Summer School at Norwich University, Vermont. At Lewis & Clark she taught all levels of Russian language and literature courses, both in Russian and in English translation. Prof. Osipovich’s major research focus was on gender issues in Russian literature and culture. In her last few years at Lewis & Clark, she and her students conducted extensive research on the history of Russian-speaking immigrants in Oregon and created a website devoted to the past and present of their communities: https://sites.google.com/a/lclark.edu/rsco/.
During her retirement, Prof. Osipovich continues to research, write and volunteer. She spends more time with her loved ones, travels, reads, goes to concerts & movies and enjoys her yoga classes.
