
Judith Miller
Visiting Professor of Lawyering
Biography
After receiving her JD, Miller practiced law with the Portland firm of Stoel, Rives, Boley, Fraser & Wyse before returning to Lewis & Clark to direct the Legal Writing program. She subsequently spent a number of years at Yale Law School, serving initially as the first Tutor in Law for legal writing and ultimately as the Dean’s Chief of Staff and Director for Academic Research Programs. As an associate of the Bard College Institute for Writing and Thinking, she has also worked with middle- and high-school teachers to broaden their use of writing as an essential tool for critical thinking, and has led a number of other writing workshops for both legal and lay participants. At present she works primarily as a communications and editorial consultant.
