My name is Maren Barnes. I am a junior from the Seattle area studying Biology and French. I work at the Foreign Languages and Literatures Department on campus and am preparing to study abroad in Strasbourg, France my junior year. I am a social justice advocate, animal lover, nanny, and adore volunteer work with children. My primary hobby is photography. I particularly like photographing nature, architecture, pets, and candid moments with my friends. I have been working on a “Picture of the Day” project Since January of 2012 for which I take an artistic picture each day. My ideal leisure time consists of card games, puzzles, and cooking a meal with friends. I enjoy going on excursions to the greater Portland area, but am just as happy to have a quiet night in the dorms with a few friends and a movie.
