Cristina Lindquist Heffernan BS ’89 has two sons, Charlie, 13, and Tom, 16. She is very glad to have found meaningful work in education. She and her husband, Neil, have created ASSISTments, an online tutoring program that gives immediate feedback to teachers, students, school administrators, and parents. In fall 2016, an independent research organization reported ASSISTments increased math performance and helped close persistent achievement gaps. Due to this validation, Heffernan and her husband were invited to present about the study results at the White House in December 2016.
