K. William Gibson is a graduate of the University of Oregon (BA/MA) and Lewis & Clark Law School and has been a member of the Oregon State Bar since 1979.
After practicing personal injury law in Portland, Oregon for nearly 25 years, he now serves as a mediator and arbitrator. Mr. Gibson’s cases range from personal injury claims, insurance claims, business and real estate claims. His practice is approximately 70% arbitration and 30% mediation.
He has served as a member of the Multnomah County Arbitration Commission and regularly provides training to Multnomah County lawyers wanting to join the court-annexed arbitration program. He is also a member of the Oregon State Bar and American Bar Association Dispute Resolution Sections. He serves on the Executive Committee of the OSB Alternative Dispute Resolution Section.
Mr. Gibson is the author of three editions of the ABA bestselling book How to Build & Manage a Personal Injury Practice. The first edition was named as the “Best Legal Publication” for 1997 by Lawyers Weekly USA.
He enjoys studying Mandarin Chinese and jazz singing. He has led delegations of lawyers to Cuba, China and India.
Mr. Gibson is also a private pilot.
