Devra Sigle Hermosilla, JD, MEd

Assistant Dean, Career and Professional Development

Devra S. Hermosilla is the Assistant Dean of Career and Professional Development, overseeing the Career Services Department. She is committed to the mission of working with students, employers, alumni, and donors to maximize the creation of job and networking opportunities for Lewis & Clark Law students and graduates. She believes in fostering relationships with her students, alumni network, and employers to build trust and serve their individual needs.

Prior to law school, Devra worked in corporate human resources, implementing employment laws and working with labor unions. She worked as a lawyer in Washington, Idaho, and Oregon for nearly seventeen years prior to entering legal academia. Working in private law firms, her own practice, and under government contracts, Devra’s practice focused on private and public employer-side employment law, civil litigation, and juvenile and adult criminal defense.

Outside of work, Devra is enjoying being an empty nester – turning her attention to her new pandemic puppy, Enzo. She is an avid roller derby fan, previously skating and coaching for many years before passing the torch to her daughter.

For students, Devra is a primary career counselor for both private and public employment options, initially assigned surnames A-L. She also works with programming, communication, and recruitment for 3L students and recent graduates in finding their post-graduation employment.

For employers, Devra works with legal employers to develop post-graduation employment opportunities. She is happy to work with employers in any stage of the recruitment process, and can connect interested employers with our students for information sessions and formal recruitment.

For alumni, Devra provides lifetime career advising and loves to connect alumni to students in networking and career exploration opportunities.

For donors, Devra is available to connect you with our giving team to discuss the impact that your donation to the Lezak Legacy Program, the Public Interest Law Project, or the Loan Repayment Assistance Program can have in making public interest possible for our students and alumni.
