    Since 2006, the Chicago Alliance Against Sexual Exploitation (CAASE) has existed to end sexual exploitation in this community, and since 2009, CAASE has done its work by providing free and comprehensive legal services for survivors of sexual violation - including by representing those victimized through rape or in the context of the sex trade, within the context of the criminal justice system. The other pillars of CAASE’s work - Policy, Prevention, and Community Engagement - have a decade’s history working to improve policy, practice, and culture (both at the state and local level) so that various systems, including specifically the criminal justice system, improve the ways they understand, engage with, and respond to victims of rape and prostitution.

    The Illinois Attorney General’s Office provides many services to victims of crime.  Services include information about crime victim’s rights, assistance with compensation, referral to services statewide, and victim notification concerning cases and custody status of offenders.

    The Illinois Coalition Against Sexual Assault (ICASA) is a not-for-profit corporation of 29 community-based sexual assault crisis centers working together to end sexual violence. Each center provides 24-hour crisis intervention services, counseling and advocacy for victims of sexual assault and their significant others.

    The Violent Crime Victim Assistance (VCVA) Bureau is dedicated to: developing and improving activities and services that promote the recognition of rights, needs, and interests of crime victims in Illinois; providing victims access to programs that supply needed information, assistance, and advocacy; educating the public about victim services; and ensuring that grantee agencies provide quality services.

    The Illinois Coalition Against Domestic Violence (ILCADV) is a nonprofit membership organization of advocates for victims of domestic violence throughout Illinois.  Their website has referrals to local shelter services.
