    Anna Viel is proud to be the T.A. for the 23 Unknown Named Agents and Professor BP.  She graduated in 2007 from Middlebury College in Vermont, where she majored in conservation biology.  When she isn’t nose-deep in casebooks, Anna enjoys rock climbing, cross-country skiing, and hiking.  She also loves to cook and spent way too much time (and money) this summer making jam from Sauvie Island berries.  Anna lives in the Clinton neighborhood in Southeast with her boyfriend Alex and their lovely tabby cat, Olive.

    Zach Pilchen is from Northern Virginia, but tells people he’s from Washington, D.C. because it’s just easier that way.  After double-majoring in government and environmental policy in college, Zach took Horace Greeley’s advice and went west, young man, to Lewis & Clark.  In his free time, he annoys his girlfriend by talking about law school stuff.     Courtney Peck completed her Bachelor of Arts at Missouri State University, where she majored in English Literature and minored in Gender Studies.  She is focusing on business law at Lewis & Clark and hopes to practice in the Portland area after graduating.  In her free time, she enjoys reading novels, hiking in Forest Park, playing with her cat, and cheering for the Timbers.

    Brittany Medlin, a second-year law student, holds a Bachelor of Arts in History from Villanova University and a Master of Arts in Higher Education Administration from Boston College.  In her free time, Brittany likes to hike and bike her way around Oregon.

    Lauren McDonald received her undergraduate degree in Food Management & Japanese from the Rochester Institute of Technology in Rochester, New York.  She has always loved animals since an early age, has been vegan for over five years and loves to cook.  In her spare time, Lauren enjoys spending time at home with her partner, cat, and two rabbits, playing video games, eating, and watching the squirrels on the back porch.  Some of her major accomplishments include watching an entire season of 24 in one day, and being on TV for being entirely too good at singing in a fake rock band.

    Kya Marienfeld is a second year law student who came to Lewis & Clark from the beautiful northwoods of Minnesota to study environmental law.  She earned her BA in History and Environmental Geoscience from the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis. She is very excited to work with incoming students as they navigate their first year of law school, legal writing, and life in Portland!  After law school, she would like to work in environmental litigation in either the Mountain West or back in the great state of Minnesota.  When she’s not reading law books and staring wistfully out the window, she is a Managing Editor of the Animal Law Review, a Project Coordinator for the Northwest Environmental Defense Center, a lifelong canoeist, and a rabid St. Louis Cardinals fan.

    Chris Horras, a second-year law student, holds a BS in Biology from the College of Idaho, where he graduated summa cum laude; a M.A. in Teaching from the University of Portland’s Pacific Alliance for Catholic Education; and a M.S. in Biology from Boise State University.  Chris enjoys spending time with his wife, Rachelle, and his six-month-old son, Harrison.  In addition, Chris loves watching college football, sampling the variety of pubs and beers around Portland, snowboarding, strumming the guitar, and cooking. He finds law school challenging and exciting, and he is looking forward to a career in civil and/or criminal litigation.

    Zoe Grover was raised in Corbett, Oregon.  She attended the University of Oregon, where she received a BS with honors in Economics, minoring in Business Administration.  Before coming to law school, she worked in the legal and real estate industries.  After law school, she hopes to practice commercial transaction law.  In her spare time, she enjoys golfing, hiking, traveling, and Duck Football.  Zoe can be contacted at zgrover@lclark.edu.

    Alex Flood is a 2L with a focus on Criminal and Immigration law. In 2007 he made his way to Portland from Colorado via Peru. He earned his BA in Political Science from the University of Colorado. In the four years preceding law school he worked for AFS Intercultural Programs (formerly American Field Service) to coordinate study abroad opportunities for high school students across the country. Alex loves to bicycle, skateboard, and grow tomatoes.

    Robert Doeckel is originally from Wisconsin, and went to the University of Wisconsin-Madison where he double majored in political science and history.  After learning there was no such thing as a “history factory” where he could work, he began volunteering for political campaigns, eventually landing a job in the Wisconsin State Capitol.  After that, he helped run a nonprofit advocacy group with over 50,000 supporters.  Now, he’s a second-year student hoping to build a career as a litigator here in Portland.  He likes Milwaukee Brewers baseball, photography, spending time with his wife and dog, and like any Portlander, all variety of outdoor fun.

    Alexis Andiman is a third-year student focusing on environmental law.  She graduated from St. John’s College in Santa Fe, New Mexico with a double major in Philosophy and History of Mathematics and Science and a double minor in Classical Studies and Comparative Literature.  In addition to serving as a senior teaching assistant, she enjoys biking, volunteering at the Oregon Humane Society, and exploring local wilderness areas.  To contact Alexis, email alexisandiman@lclark.edu.
