Borrowing concepts from speed dating, the BLSA Networking Event will facilitate short, focused conversations between current law students and local attorneys in a relaxed setting. Topics that will be addressed include networking, business development, and finding your voice as a lawyer.

Vigil for Black Lives

Join the Lewis & Clark Black Law Students Association (BLSA), Black Student Union, National Lawyers Guild (NLG), and more to honor the Black lives taken by systemic racism and its resulting police brutality and vigilantism.

We will have food, music, speakers, and community building, and will uplift Black voices first and foremost. Please join us in solidarity.

This event is free and open to the public! Bring your friends, and prepare your singing voice to say the names of victims with Don’t Shoot Portland!  The march from Gate 2 of Griswold Stadium parking lot to the Chapel will depart at 6:25pm.

Diversity Dialogue: Revolution or Riot? Covering Institutionalized Violence and #BlackLivesMatter

This Diversity Dialogue will focus on analyzing media coverage of recent systemic violence against the Black community in places like Ferguson, Mo., as well as the subsequent uprisings and protests that have occurred around the country. Whose story is being told? How does the coverage of these events perpetuate stereotypes and biases?
