*SOLD OUT* Halloween Party

Join SBA for our annual Halloween Party at Ecotrust in the Pearl district! Theme: CRIME SCENE. Location: 8 pm to 1 am, at the Ecotrust building in NW Portland’s Pearl District at 721 NW 9th Avenue, between Irving and Johnson streets.

This event is 21+. BRING YOUR ID so that you may be admitted. The Halloween party will serve beer, wine, and cider. No, there will not be hard liquor. Drinks are included in the price of your ticket.

You will receive a drink bracelet. The bracelet leaves it up to you to use your best judgment to monitor your own drinking.
Upper division students may recall that past SBA events have used drink tickets to limit alcohol consumption. We’re using bracelets instead this year. Drink responsibly so we can use drink bracelets for future events, such as the spring Barrister’s Ball!

The number of drinks you consume is up to your best judgement and up to the discretion of the bartenders. Just like at a bar, if you request a drink and the bartender believes that you’ve had too many, the bartender has the discretion to refuse to serve you more drinks. If a SBA Halloween Party bartender decides you are too inebriated for more drinks, they’ll snip your drinks bracelet. Without a bracelet, you may not be served drinks at the Halloween party.

“What if I bought tickets for other people? Do all of us have to arrive at the party at the same time and check in with me?” Students will be checked in via a guest list. The guest list means that you will not receive a physical ticket, and you will not receive any email receipt from SBA. Don’t worry–all the people you bought tickets for do not have to arrive with you and check in alongside you. SBA members checking students in will have a guest list that notes how many tickets each guest bought. If someone else bought your ticket, arrive at the party knowing the full name of the student who bought your ticket. If my friend Sonia Sotomayor bought a ticket for herself and for me, but I arrive an hour earlier than she does, I just tell the SBA member checking me in at the Halloween party, “Hey Sonia Sotomayor bought my ticket,” and the SBA member will note on her guest list that one of the two tickets Sonia bought has been claimed.
