England Fine Arts Program Study Abroad- Spring 2026
Open gallery

In collaboration with the Foundation for International Education (FIE), Lewis & Clark College’s England Fine Arts program is an immersive exploration of Music, Theatre, Visual Arts, and British culture. The program is based in London, where students take classes in each of these areas. A substantial component of the program is the experiential education outside of the classroom. Students in the Spring 2026 iteration of the program attended nearly 30 performances and visited numerous art museums and galleries in and outside of London. The agenda also included many cultural activities, including excursions to York, Glasgow, Edinburgh, and the Seven Sisters cliffs in Eastbourne. Students have described the program as “magical, memorable and life-changing.”
An excerpt from a poem by Poppy Smith, a student in the 2026 England Fine Arts Program:
“A time of revitalization.
Shedding layers, in hope of spring.
The beauty of the rolling hillsides, bare oak branches, and the steam that rises from the Thames.
Sunny days in early March, t-shirt weather, and wide smiles.
Timeless art and theater productions.
I have been tethered by my new friends, by wide, paint spattered canvases, by late-night theater.
I think of the highlands, of the art that has so deeply moved me, of feeling less alone than I have in a very long time.
I don’t have an answer for anything, but I will seek to understand, with all the strength in me.”
