Anthony Hudson, Native Artist Scholar in Residence 2024-2025

Anthony Hudson as Dr. Carla Credit: Nina JohnsonDuring his tenure as the 2024/2025 Native Artist Scholar in Residence, Anthony Hudson (Grand Ronde/Siletz) showcased the depth and breadth of his artistic talent. His contributions to the college’s art scene included an improv performance, a guided tour of the Transgressors Exhibit at the Chachalu Museum, and exclusive readings from his upcoming memoir, Looking for Tiger Lily.
The fall 2024 semester started off with a very special performance by Anthony Hudson, of “Ask Dr. Carla. They performed as part of LC’s New Student Orientation for an engaged and raucous group of first years. The event created an opportunity to reflect on the legacy of Lewis & Clark through sharp humor and phenomenal drag performance.
Later in the fall, Anthony returned to read an excerpt of his upcoming memoir Looking for Tiger Lily at an intimate reading for students and the general public.
In February, Arts@LC brought a group of students, including the Native Student Union, for a day at the Chachalu Tribal Museum and Cultural Center to see Transgressors, an exhibition that Hudson had co-curated with Felix Furby. The exhibit presented now and future Indigiqueer ancestors who move beyond boundaries in life and art. The day included a Q&A with Anthony and Felix Furby.
The exhibition left such an impression on the attendees, that Lewis & Clark College decided to bring the Transgressors exhibit to Lewis & Clark’s Hoffman Gallery in 2026.
