The new school year is upon us! Join the fun of welcoming our new students to campus:

Wear your favorite L&C gear on Thursday, August 28.

Wear anything black and/or orange—we love to see everyone show their school spirit!

Help new students move into their residence halls.

Your help can come in the form of carrying boxes from cars to rooms, providing directions, or simply greeting people with a smile. Volunteers are needed from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., and you can sign up for a shift online.

Join the NSO welcome event and get a free meal ticket for the picnic!

Join us at Griswold Stadium at 6:45 p.m. on August 28 for a special welcome event.

As new students and families enter the stadium for their NSO Welcome, they will pass through a line of L&C faculty and staff cheering them on from either side of the end zone. Students will be seated in chairs on the track, and friends and family are invited to join in the stands.

Given the new evening time, our interim VP of Student Life, Dr. Ben Meoz, is pleased to offer dinner at the preceding welcome picnic to any participating faculty or staff member who would like to stay for the event. If you’d like to participate in this memorable welcome and receive a meal ticket, please sign up using this registration link (no need to sign up if you are only attending the welcome event and not the picnic).

We will hand-deliver your meal ticket during the week of the event.

Be mindful about parking on Thursday, August 28.

The CAS campus will be extremely busy during move-in, especially around residence halls. Please park in the Fir Acres or Griswold lots rather than in the residential areas of the CAS campus. Additionally, please avoid parking in the graduate school lots due to Convocation happening on this same day.

If you have any questions about move-in day, please reach out to the First-Year Experience team, Jonathan Manz (jmanz@lclark.edu) or Melanie McManamon (mmcmanamon@lclark.edu).
